Herbdaroo Inc. is a Canadian company built around one plant. We make Safronika, a standardized extract of the saffron crocus stigma, for people who want a natural health product with a number on it rather than a vague promise.
Where the interest in saffron comes from
Saffron has been used in Persian herbal practice for well over a thousand years, most often for mood, digestion and general vitality. That history is why the plant is studied at all today. It is not, on its own, evidence of anything, and we try to be careful about the difference.
What the modern work has established is narrower and more useful: saffron contains crocin and safranal, both antioxidants, and both measurable. That is what a supplement can honestly be built on.
What we decided to do about it
Most saffron sold for health purposes is whole spice, and whole spice is inconsistent. Strength depends on the harvest, the grower, the grade and how long it has sat in a warehouse. We chose to work only with a standardized extract so that the dose is a known quantity.
Everything downstream of that decision follows from it: a Canadian manufacturer working under cGMP, batch testing on every lot, and a formula with nothing in it that does not need to be there.
What we do not do
We do not position Safronika as a replacement for medical treatment, and we do not claim it treats disease. If you are unwell, the right first step is a healthcare practitioner, not a capsule. Safronika is a supplement, and we would rather say that plainly than sell it as something else.
